The hemodialysis service was already present even before in the Regional Hospital of Shkodra, but with a very low capacity, which resulted by extending the service hours to 4 shifts turns, out of the required standards and eventually, for lack of investments, tens of patients were infected with viral hepatitis.
The hemodialysis sector was built after an investment in the infrastructure on a part of the Regional Hospital in Shkodra and began full function on July 4, 2016.
Today 54 patients from Shkodra, Puka, Vau i Dejës, Koplik and Velipoja receive this service in 17 dializys chairs. A staff of 19 medical and assistants work in this center.
