For the first time, the hemodialysis service, vital to anyone who needs them, will also be performed in Lezha. After Vlora and Shkodra, the hemodialysis service will now extend to Lezha. This service will put an end to the physical and mental suffering of 42 insufficient kidney patients who were forced to travel 3 times a week with their family members to Shkodra or Tirana. Now they will receive the service at the Lezha Regional Hospital.
In the future, the addition of hemodialysis machines and hemodialysis chairs can be increased proportionally to the needs of patients. The installed technology as well as the aspiration and conditioning equipment used are in the most modern standards and the most modern parameters for performing classical hemodialysis. The center is equipped with an in-house laboratory that allows performing laboratory tests according to the approved hemodialysis protocol in an immediate manner. Likewise, to provide patient treatment without any interruption the center is equipped with generator and UPS.
The new center of Hemodialysis was visited by Prime Minister Edi Rama, accompanied by Minister of Health Ilir Beqaj. They met with patients who were currently undergoing dialysis. Under the concessionary contract, besides Vlora, Shkodra and Lezha, two other centers will be offered to provide hemodialysis services: Korça and Elbasan.
